A major problem facing architects and specifier's has always been to find a long life, problems free means of sealing the roof with its final waterproof membrane. Many systems have been plagued with problems and failures due to outdated materials and methods of application.
Midland Butyl Ltd supply a comprehensive DIY flat roof kit for the roofer and the keen DIY enthusiast. The Butyl/EPDM flat roofing system is unique in that the complete roof covering is prefabricated as a fully welded sheet in our workshop and delivered direct to the customer to install in one operation.
No specialist tools are required, no dangerous naked flame or boiling bitumen is used as associated with flat roofs; and the speed and simplification of laying makes it ideal for DIY flat roof application.
Suitable for commercial and domestic installations, new and remedial, the membrane can even be laid over the existing roof covering. This avoids expensive stripping costs and disruption to the customers' normal business.
The EPDM butyl membrane is impermeable to water, liquids and a variety of gases and chemicals. It is unaffected by UV light and ozone, highly resistant to cracking and puncturing, remains flexible over a wide range of temperatures, and will not shrink or deteriorate. Expected life span exceeds 40 years.
All DIY flat roof kits come with a made to measure membrane, heavy-duty undercushion to suit, edge trims, gutter trims, adhesive, fixings and dressing detail where required. Full fitting instructions with diagrams and technical specifications are supplied with every kit.
